About BHCA's CRDA Program
The Blue Hills Employment and Skills Training (B.H.E.S.T) program is for residents in the Hartford region between ages 18 and 24 and currently houses the CRDA Fellows initiative. This initiative is a pilot program designed to increase opportunities for youth in the construction industries and create positive alternatives for at-risk youth in urban environments. The program is funded through the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). BHCA's focus is primarily on: basic and life skills training, internships, vocational training, college readiness, and other wraparound services. The ultimate goal is job placement in the construction field. Upon completion of the program, participants will be offered employment & retention services for 12 months. BHCA staff members offer ongoing intensive case management, wraparound services, navigation of career clusters, and career and life guidance.
