About Capital City Track Club
This program’s primary goal is to combat health disparities in poor and minority children caused by the lack of physical activities and poor eating habits, We engage underserved city youth who are not now enrolled in any type of athletic program in the school or community. The Track Club serves 200 youth participants and their families. The Youth Recreation Track Program, Capital City Track Club, (1) provides health and nutrition education to at-risk youth and parents throughout the City of Hartford; (2) organizes and engages youth participants in structured track and field training and competitions; (3) exposes girls to sports activities; (4) educates and expands the knowledge of parents and youth participants on the financial opportunities available to participants, via Athletic scholarships, grants, and other financial support.
